IMPORTANT!! It’s time for the annual (2013) International LGBT (marketing) Survey. As the Bisexual Resource Center asks PLEASE TAKE IT anytime thru June 30th, 2013. And then ‘Signal Boost’, Reblog and in general TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS.  We especially need a LOT of Bisexual/Non-Monosexual Voices please. Here is what it is all about:

Please take part in CMI’s 7th Annual LGBT Community Survey. Participation in this survey gives important feedback to our LGBT community media and organizations, and provides valid data to companies interested in serving our needs, sponsoring our charities, and supporting their LGBT employees. Last year, the survey was taken by over 45,000 LGBT citizens of 148 countries!Your answers are completely confidential, and will never be used for sales or marketing purposes. The survey should take less than 15 minutes to complete.

We really need a lot of bisexual/non-mononsexual people to take this survey and share it with everyone they can think of becasue Community Marketing & Insights has graciously shared the important statistical information with Bisexual NGO’s/Charities & Academic Researchers. And these people in turn use it to be able to help provide direct and useful services to you! So please help in this annual effort. Thank You

Transgender woman arrested for wearing sheer top, jailed with men.

daggerpen:

I just.

You arrest her because her top is too sheer and shows her nipples, something that is only a crime for women.

And then you jail her as a man.

Fucking fuck.

When you get all excited that you’ve finally figured out what’s going on with your sexuality and then learn about how popular biphobia is…

i knew from the age of 13 that i was different, in the sense i was noticing girls as well as boys.  i kept it quiet because everyone i was growing up with saw being gay as disgusting and bi as attention seeking.  they always guessed i was “the weird one” though and was sure i fancied them all. after i came out i politely told them all not to kid themselves….i have standards….

i came out as bi when i was 21 and got with my girlfriend last year.  everyone i went to school with on my FB saw it and immediately said they always knew i was a lesbian because i “never went for boys”.  i’ve had two boyfriends.

it seems if you’re a bisexual girl you’re categorised as lesbian and if you’re a bisexual boy you’re categorised as gay.

makes me want to scream.

People have always assumed I like women.  I don’t want tell them they’re right because I also like men, but mainly I don’t want to tell them they’re right because I don’t want them to think that their shitty stereotypical thinking is justified

I just found out that the person who completely abandoned me and spread rumours about me to our entire school when I first came out five years ago, is volunteering at our city’s pride festival. I know I probably should be happy that she’s changed for the better but it just really pisses me off, ‘cause where the hell was that when I was fourteen and desperetly needed my best friend?

I recently finished another collection of Alison Bechdel’s amazing Dykes to Watch Out ForIt struck me that her comics dealt with the same issues and divisions regarding assimilation, corporatism, and bi & trans inclusion that queer activists still struggle with today. In 1994. And she was killing it.

Essential reading.

Yeah on that bi & trans* inclusion thing … we (the frequently overlapping) trans* & bisexual communities have been working on it together since, what, at least 1974 … so next year it will make 40 years now. Are we there yet?
